The Brooklyn Nets are a professional basketball team headquartered in the borough of Brooklyn, New York City.

The Nets are a member of the Atlantic Division of the Eastern Conference of the National Basketball Association (NBA). The team’s home games are held at Barclays Center.

The franchise relocated to New Jersey in 1977 and was known as the New Jersey Nets from 1977 until 2012. The Nets, headed by ace point guard Jason Kidd, reached the NBA finals in each of the previous two seasons (2001–02 and 2002–03) but failed to win either.
