Does GIJ Offer Masters in Public Relations?

Yes! The Ghana Institute of Journalism (GIJ) offers Masters in Public Relations. The postgraduate programme in Public Relations is a one-year programme. The thrust of the programme is to develop the manpower potential of this brand of professionals to utilize public relations strategies in their organizations.

Qualifications to Study Master of Arts in Public Relations at GIJ

1. A Bachelor’s degree in Communications Studies from Ghana Institute of Journalism or any accredited/recognized University, with at least Second-Class Lower Division. Or

A Bachelor’s degree in other Disciplines from any reputable University with at least Second-Class Lower Division.

2. Pass an Entrance Examination and Selection Interview.

NOTE: Applicants from Non-English-speaking countries must also have a minimum level of English Language Proficiency in the following: GSCE/O Level. IELTS and TOEFL.

International Students

International students who hold equivalent qualifications are eligible to apply for any of the programmes.

Steps to Apply for Master of Arts in Public Relations at GIJ

An applicant must pay the relevant application fee at any Fidelity Bank branch by providing the applicant’s name and telephone number.

You will be provided with your application number/ transaction ID at the bank that will grant you access to the GIJ Online Admission Portal.

Applicants should then proceed to the Online Admission Portal: http://registration.gij.edu.gh/Apply/Start to begin the application process.

Make sure you have selected the “Master of Arts in Public Relations” programme.

Once the process has been completed, the applicant must print out a copy of the completed application form together with one passport photograph and supporting documents to the address below.
