How to Recover Deleted Files

The first step is to open ES File Explorer and click the menu icon in the top left. Select “Recycle Bin” from the options. This will open a view showing all the files you’ve deleted recently.

To recover a file, simply locate it in the list and click on the checkbox next to the filename. You can select multiple files if needed. Once you’ve selected the files to recover, click the “Restore” button at the bottom.

ES File Explorer will prompt you to choose a storage location to restore the files to. Either select the original location or pick a new folder, then click “OK” to restore the deleted files.

That’s all there is to it! The restored files will be exactly as they were before being deleted, with their contents intact.

How to Permanently Delete Files

While the recycle bin in ES File Explorer is useful for recovering files, it does take up space to store those deleted items. If you need to free up storage, you can permanently delete files from the recycle bin.

In the Recycle Bin view, tap the three-dot menu icon in the top right and select “Delete All” from the options. You’ll see a warning about permanently deleting the files; click “OK” to continue.

Alternatively, you can select specific files to delete permanently by clicking the checkboxes next to their names, and then clicking the “Delete” button at the bottom.

Once you permanently delete files this way, they are gone for good from your device’s storage. The space they took up will now be free for other apps and files.

Please note that files deleted directly from certain folders, like Download or WhatsApp Media, may skip the recycle bin and get permanently deleted right away to save space. So be careful when deleting from those locations.
